ABOUT US
The Handmade Paper Company Ltd was established in 1995 based on the idea of bringing paper making co–operatives and communities from around the world together and promoting an environmentally friendly industry. Our papers come from Northern Thailand and India, but we get contributions from all over the world. We are always looking for new ideas in paper and are happy to hear about new sources and ideas for paper crafts and any related suggestions
We now have an extensive range of products suitable both for amateur craft workers and professionals. Our ranges are designed to cater for those who want to make their own gifts exclusively and for those who just want a finished craft product. People who come to us have an eye for elegance at keen prices.
ORGANIC, ETHICAL HANDMADE PAPER
Our papers are prepared in an environmentally friendly way and are acid and lignin free. We are firm believers in responsible trade practices; our work environments are comfortable and our craft workers are paid well above the local average; thus motivating our workers.

PAPER FROM THAILAND
In Thailand, the key ingredient to our collection is bast from the indigenous mulberry type bush or saa, as it is known locally. This fast growing bush has been used traditionally for paper making for many centuries. It gives the paper its unique silky straw quality.
PAPER FROM INDIA
In Northern India, cotton rag is collected as waste from the prolific clothing industry. It is pulped, natural dyes are added together with exotic mixes of flower petals, seeds and stalks.
